Artist's
Statement
All of my work is related to shamanism and botany. Osprey Totem
is an obvious reference to an osprey nest, but it also refers to other
man-made structures such as traps and Indian burial grounds.
In a sense, I am paying my respects to the natural materials which are
so vital to a particular landscape, yet are perhaps overlooked. The intrinsic
quality of a material to convey power and the metamorphosis which takes
place is what interests me.
