Statement
Spirit Vessels
was designed for Forest Hills as a contemporary monument. It is a reinterpretation
of the eternal flame and what I term the abstracted obelisk. Hollow forms
that maintain translucency and reach skyward, these structures become
metaphors for life, death, and the afterlife. This grouping of three vessels
expresses movement and life in the environment of peace and tranquility,
and is offered as a reflection of the everlasting spirit within each of
us.
