Artist's Statement
Circles of Life celebrates water, its natural tranquility and its transcendent energy. In the serene and spiritual setting of Forest Hills, water is a vibrant source and a window to living energy. This piece dynamically presents water’s playful and contemplative qualities through spontaneous dancing ripples.

The installation consists of a series of imperceptible elements at the surface of the water. Every few minutes, one of these elements breaks the surface of the water, generating a series of concentric rings, ripples that cascade across the surface. These ripples in turn are sensed by other elements, and they respond with their own series of interacting waves. A pile of pebbles invites visitors to engage in an interactive choreography, with the tranquil water’s surface as the stage.
